ON THE COAT OF ARMS OF THE REPUBLIC OF ARMENIA<\/span><\/h3>\n

Article 1. Law Regulation Subject<\/em> <\/strong><\/p>\n

This law regulates the use and order of application of the coat of arms of the Republic of Armenia.<\/p>\n

Article 2. The Coat of Arms of the Republic of Armenia<\/em> <\/strong><\/p>\n

The coat of arms of the Republic of Armenia is one of the state symbols of the Republic of Armenia.<\/p>\n

The coat of arms of the Republic of Armenia has a shield at its center. On the shield are depicted Ararat Mount together with Noah\u2019s Ark and the coats of arms of the four kingdoms of historical Armenia; left from above the Bagratuni, right from above the Arshakuni, left from bottom the Artashisyan, right from bottom the Rubinyans. The shield is held by an eagle (on the left) and a lion (on the right,) and above the shield there are depicted a sword, a branch, bundle of wheat, a chain and a ribbon. The main colour of the coat of arms of the Republic of Armenia is golden. The colour of the kingdoms of the historical Armenia left from above is red, right from above is blue, left from bottom is blue, right from bottom is red and the mount, depicted at the center of the shield is orange. The mentioned colours symbolized the colours of the flag of the Republic of Armenia.<\/p>\n

The image(coloured) of the coat of arms of the Republic of Armenia is presented in the component appendix of this law.<\/p>\n

Article 3. The Imitation of the Coat of Arms of the Republic of Armenia<\/em> <\/strong><\/p>\n

The coats of arms of the NGOs of the Republic of Armenia, the symbols of the organizations as well as other symbols and coats of arms should differ from the coat of arms of the Republic of Armenia.<\/p>\n

Article 4. The Use of the Image of the Coat of Arms of the Republic of Armenia<\/em> <\/strong><\/p>\n

The coloured image of the Republic of Armenia is used on the laws of the Republic of Armenia, on the decrees and orders of the President of the Republic of Armenia, on the decisions of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia, Government of the Republic of Armenia, Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia, Constitutional Court of the Republic of Armenia, on the decisions, decrees and judgments of the courts of the Republic of Armenia, on the official accounts of the Republic of Armenia, on the formal papers of the President of the Republic of Armenia, National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia, Government of the Republic of Armenia, Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia, republican executive bodies, courts of the Republic of Armenia, Prosecutor\u2019s Office bodies, Central Bank of the Republic of Armenia, Control Center of the Republic of Armenia, State Government other bodies, Defender of Human Rights, Territorial management and Local self Government bodies (also Yerevan Municipality,) and the standing bodies (services, councils, committees) set up by a law of the Republic of Armenia.<\/p>\n

A single colour image of the coat of arms of the Republic of Armenia is used on the passports of the citizens of the Republic of Armenia or on other identification documents, on the seals and formal papers of state government and local self government other bodies of the Republic of Armenia. The right of using the image of the coat of arms of the Republic of Armenia is reserved\u00a0 by the legislation of the Republic of Armenia.<\/p>\n

Article 5. Location of the Image of the Coat of Arms of the Republic of Armenia<\/em> <\/strong><\/p>\n

The image of the coat of arms of the Republic of Armenia is always located in the offices of the President of the Republic of Armenia, President of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia, Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia, President of the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Armenia, Head of the Staff of the President of the Republic of Armenia, Head of the Staff of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia, Head of the Staff of the Government of the Republic of Armenia, Chairman of the Central Bank\u00a0 of the Republic of Armenia, President of the Control Chamber of the Republic of Armenia, Human Rights Defender, Republican Executive Bodies, authorities of other bodies of state governance, authorities of standing bodies(services, councils, committees,) established by the law of the Republic of Armenia, judges and Prosecutors of the Republic of Armenia, authorities (also Yerevan Mayor) of territorial government and local self government bodies, in the sitting hall of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia, in the sitting hall of the Government of the Republic of Armenia,\u00a0 in the court-rooms of the courts of the Republic of Armenia, in the halls and on the buildings of state civil registration offices, on the buildings of the residence of the President of the Republic of Armenia,\u00a0 the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia, the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Armenia,\u00a0 the Government of the Republic of Armenia,\u00a0 the prosecutor bodies of\u00a0 the Republic of Armenia, the Central Bank of the Republic of Armenia,\u00a0 the Human Rights Defender,\u00a0 the republican executive bodies, other bodies of state government, Territorial management and local self government bodies of the Republic of Armenia (also Yerevan mayor,) and on the building of the notaries, on the buildings and in the offices of the authorities of diplomatic service bodies (representative embassies, consulate institutions,) on the buildings of other official representative offices of the Republic of Armenia in the territory of foreign countries and in the offices of their authorities, in the halls or one of the parlours of the educational institutions and in the official internet sites of the Republic of Armenia.<\/p>\n

The image of the coat of arms of the Republic of Armenia is also located on the main border signs, as well as in the pass control points of the Republic of Armenia.<\/p>\n

Besides the cases, foreseen by this law, the cases of the usage of the image of the coat of arms of the Republic of Armenia is defined by the Government of the Republic of Armenia. <\/strong><\/p>\n

Article. 6 The Use of the Image of the Coat of Arms of the Republic of Armenia in the Territory of the Republic of Armenia with a Coat of Arms of a Foreign Country<\/em> <\/strong><\/p>\n

In case the coat of arms of the Republic of Armenia is simultaneously located with the coat of arms of the foreign countries in the territory of the Republic of Armenia, the ratio of the state coats of arms of other countries should not be larger than the coat of arms of the Republic of Armenia.<\/p>\n

In case the coat of arms of the Republic of Armenia is simultaneously located with the coat of arms of the foreign countries, the coat of arms of the Republic of Armenia should not be located lower than the coat of arms of the foreign country.<\/p>\n

When it is necessary to display the coat of arms of the Republic of Armenia simultaneously with the coat of arms of a foreign State in the territory of the Republic of Armenia, the coat of arms of the Republic of Armenia should be located from the left side of the building (as viewed facing the building.) While at the same time some odd numbered coat of arms are displayed together, the coat of arms of the Republic of Armenia should be located in the middle of them. If even numbered flags (more than two) are displayed, the coat of arms of the Republic of Armenia should be located left from the middle.<\/p>\n

Article 7. The Use of the Image of the Coat of Arms of the Republic of Armenia by the Armed Forces and other Troops of the Republic of Armenia<\/em> <\/strong><\/p>\n

The coat of arms of the Republic of Armenia may be displayed on the flags of the armed forces of the Republic of Armenia, border troops of the national security service, adjunct to the Government of the Republic of Armenia, on the distinguishing badges of police troops of the Republic of Armenia, criminal executive servants of the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Armenia, militaries and the ranks and authority staff of the police of the Republic of Armenia.<\/p>\n

Article 8. The Use of the Image of the Coat of Arms of the Republic of Armenia on the Monetary Units, Orders and Medals<\/em> <\/strong><\/p>\n

The image of the coat of arms of the Republic of Armenia may be displayed on the monetary units, orders and medals of the Republic of Armenia<\/p>\n

Article 9.\u00a0 The Responsibility in Case the Requirements of this Law are Breached<\/em> <\/strong><\/p>\n

The breach of the requirements of this law causes responsibility by the defined order.<\/p>\n

Article 10.\u00a0 The Validity of the Law<\/em> <\/strong><\/p>\n

This law is valid from the 10th day following its official publication.<\/p>\n

Article 11.\u00a0 Transitional Provisions<\/em> <\/strong><\/p>\n

Before the establishment of the Control Chamber of the Republic of Armenia, the relevant requirement of the 1st part of Article 5 is functioning for the President of the Control Chamber of the Republic of Armenia.<\/p>\n

The moment this law is in function the decree of April 29, 1981 of the Supreme Council Presidency of ASSR on \u201cDefining the Statute of the ASSR Coat of Arms\u201d and the HN-0580-1HO-21 Law of the Republic of Armenia of 1992 on \u201cState Coat of Arms of the Republic of Armenia\u201d becomes invalid.<\/p>\n
