The law \u201cOn the State Flag of the Republic of Armenia\u201d was adopted by the National Assembly on 24 August 1990.<\/p>\n

Following the constitutional reform of November 27, 2005, a new RA law on the National Flag of the Republic of Armenia was adopted on June 15, 2006.<\/p>\n

The flag of the Republic of Armenia is a symbol of the Republic of Armenia. The flag is tricolor with three horizontal and equal alternating stripes of red, blue and orange. The red symbolizes Armenian Highlands; constant fight of the Armenian nation for survival, Christian religion, independence and freedom of Armenia. The blue stands for the desire of the Armenian nation to live beneath peaceful sky. The orange symbolizes the creative nature and diligence of the Armenian nation. The correlation between the width and length of the flag is 1\/2. Flags of smaller and larger size proportionate to the one described in this section may be used.<\/p>\n

Article 1. Subject for the regulation of the present law<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

This law regulates the description and application order of the flag of the Republic of Armenia.<\/p>\n

Article 2. The Flag of the Republic of Armenia<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

The Flag of the Republic of Armenia is one of the state symbols of the Republic of Armenia.<\/p>\n

The Flag of the Republic of Armenia is tricoloured, red, blue and orange horizontal equal stripes from top to bottom. The red colour symbolizes the Armenian highland, and the constant fight of the Armenian people for longevity, the Christian religion, and the independence and freedom of Armenia. The blue colour symbolizes the will of the Armenian people to live peacefully under a blue sky. The orange colour symbolizes the creative talent and diligence of the Armenian people. The ratio of the width and length of the flag are 1:2.
